20 INSPECTION QUESTIONS
TO ASK RELOCATING HOMEOWNERS

1. Who is in ownership of the property?
2. When did you purchase the property?
3. Do you have a professional survey of the site?
4. Do you have a private or public easement?
5. Has the property ever been flooded from any cause or subject to a known flood hazard?
6. To your knowledge has there ever been a reported fire?
7. Does the property have a private well?
8. Does the property have a private sewage treatment system?
9. Any experiences with water in the basement?
10. Do you have transite or radiant heat on the basement level?
11. Are you aware of any signs of settlement, such as foundation cracks, bowing, diagonal stress cracks around doors or windows?
12. Has your house been tested for radon gas?
13. Have you noticed any areas in your house where moisture collects (mold, mildew or a musty odor)?
14. During winter months is there excessive condensation on the windows?
15. When was the last time the furnace was serviced?
16. Has there been any professional inspection for pest control?
17. Are there any inoperative mechanical systems?
18. Are you aware or is there evidence that a prior owner has made electrical or plumbing repairs/alterations to the home?
19. How old is the current roof on your home?
20. Any systems or amenities not apparent or visible (sprinkler system, surround sound, heat pumps, central vacuum)?
